Hi Eloise,
Sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.
Firstly, I would like to suggest starting your Mac in Safe Mode and open Teams from there to isolate issues, then check if the issue persists. Because when starting your operating system by using a normal startup, several applications and services start automatically and then run in the background. These programs include basic system processes, antivirus software, system utilities, and other software. These applications and services can sometimes cause interference when you run Office for Mac. You can refer to this article for more details.
And as you mentioned you cannot access to Teams via Safari, you can try to access it through different browsers like Chrome and Firefox to check the result.
To download Microsoft Teams for Mac, in addition to download Teams from Microsoft Teams official download page, you can also install it directly fromApple App Store – Microsoft Teams.
If the issue persists, we would like to collect some more information to further check it:
- Which macOS version do you have? You can find it by clicking Apple icon > About this Mac on the menu.
- Can you access to Office for the web correctly? Can your local Office documents be opened correctly?
- You mentioned that you cannot access to Teams via Safari. If there’s any error message, please provide a screenshot of it and share it with us.
Appreciate your understanding.
Best regards,
Madoc
