'Loading chunk 9 failed' error message

Hi there

Whenever I attempt to open files in MS Teams on Mac (desktop version) I receive the error message that I have posted below. I have tried to use MS Teams through safari but even after unchecking "prevent cross-site tracking" I am still unable to access Teams in safari. I am using Teams as it is what my school has chosen to use for online schooling and at the moment I am unable to access important files that I need to have in order to be prepared for my lessons. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I never receive the email with the link to download the desktop version and before where I downloaded it from the safari version, I cannot do that now as I cannot access the safari version. Please could you help me resolve this issue as fast as possible.

Kind regards

    Hi Eloise,

Sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.

Firstly, I would like to suggest starting your Mac in Safe Mode and open Teams from there to isolate issues, then check if the issue persists. Because when starting your operating system by using a normal startup, several applications and services start automatically and then run in the background. These programs include basic system processes, antivirus software, system utilities, and other software. These applications and services can sometimes cause interference when you run Office for Mac. You can refer to this article for more details.

And as you mentioned you cannot access to Teams via Safari, you can try to access it through different browsers like Chrome and Firefox to check the result.

To download Microsoft Teams for Mac, in addition to download Teams from Microsoft Teams official download page, you can also install it directly fromApple App Store – Microsoft Teams.

If the issue persists, we would like to collect some more information to further check it:

    1. Which macOS version do you have? You can find it by clicking Apple icon > About this Mac on the menu.
    2. Can you access to Office for the web correctly? Can your local Office documents be opened correctly?
    3. You mentioned that you cannot access to Teams via Safari. If there’s any error message, please provide a screenshot of it and share it with us.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Madoc

    Hi,

I had the same error' Loading chunk 9 failed in my teams app on windows 10, so  I used the web browser (G.Chrome)  to connect to teams but it is not a long-term solution, so I simply disconnected my account on teams and I connected again and the error disappeared and now I was able to connect to my shared files.

I hope it's the same on Mac  ;)

    Kind regards

    Hi Madoc

    Thank you for your reply.

I redownloaded (again) from the Microsoft link above. Just to let you know - there is no MS Teams app on the Mac App Store - only available for iPhone and iPad.

All is working now and very happy with the app - is a great tool.

    Thank you again.
