During a chat session through Teams, someone ised a dark skine color while mine are yellow, so I was wondering how the other participant was able to change the skin color:

The thumb up emoji is different from mine; there is a work around that I found while in the chat box, press the "Windows-key + ;" and you get an emoji box, on people tab, you can change the skin color, but that's not a default change.

Wait, seriousl y?!  It's 2020.  Does Microsoft really think that only people who use its professional products identify as caucasian/weird Simpsons Yellow?

I don't know what adjective best describes my response:  shocked, appalled, gobsmacked, dumb-founded, offended.  Is Microsoft Office's design team so lily white that it never even occurred to them to add some diversity to emojis?  Or is the idea that as a woman of color I'm just supposed to use the Monkey to show my approval?

No.  BAIDana_work did NOT post a solution.  He posted a workaround for people on a windows computer.  I'm on a Mac, so I don't have a "Windows Button." Plus many people use Teams on their phones which also don't have a Windows button.

That there's an obscure workaround available to those who use only 1 of multiple available interfaces for this product does not solve the problem.  Additionally, even if we all had Windows buttons, 99% of users DON'T search message boards for solutions and they DON'T troubleshoot.  They just see all caucasian-indicated emojs and:

    a) think nothing of it b/c they're oblivious; this is most people.  Nonetheless these folks are subconsciously affected by the message that only caucasians have a place in business

    b) feel excluded because they don't see themselves represented

or worst of all a nasty few users...

    c) think "Good for you Microsoft for validating my world view that the only people worth acknowledging or who can cut it in business are fair-skinned just like me."

Honestly, it may seem small, but this horrific oversight is myopic at best and offensive at worst. It's an oversight with which I doubt Mr. Balmer or Mr. Gates would want to be associated.

This is not really a solution but a work around. The default colors should also change. #representation

Thank you! This helped but it is lamentable that MS doesn't allow for a change in the default color.
