Hello Buel,
I'm sorry for my misunderstanding before.
When you return a student's work, you actuallt return a feedback and a point. And that student will receive a message notifying that an assignment returned.
You will not be able to recall the "retun" action, since the notification has been received by the student. However, if you click Returned button, you can leave a new feedback and a point. And from student's view, he wil get the new feedabck message which will cover the previous one. He will get the two same messages, and he will only see the information of the latest one if he doesn't click the first message. You can "Returned" to tell the sudent to ignore this feedback. And "Returned" will not affect student's work.
Let me know if you still have any other concern.
Best,
Shawn
