I have Excel 16.10 on Mac and when I try to add border lines to cells, all options are greyed out. The file is not shared. I am even logged out of Onedrive. How can I fix this?

You haven't selected a cell or group of cells. Until you do so, the items will be greyed-out.

I must edit this reply: This has suddenly started happening to me.  Before the problem started, this showed up, if you hadn't selected a cell or group of cells.  Now it doesn't make any difference.

Now to add borders you have to go all the way to the bottom of the drop-down window and choose border and ad that way.

I don't know how Excel got into that state.

You can report this to Microsoft using the Smile button in Excel.

I am also using the 16.10 build and do not see this behavior. Perhaps you could completely remove Office and reinstall, or wait for the next build to see if it's different.
