Out of storage error message

Has anybody else run into this issue that all of sudden a "Out of Storage

Delete any unneeded files from this location and then try again." pops up on all pages which disables most functionality and pages are not rendering properly (hopefully, no data has been lost). There was no warning prior to that and no matter what I do, how many pages I delete, this error message persists. It doesn't even let me copy content of the pages into another workspace (the copy is also disabled). I've run out of ideas how to restore the workspace to a fully functional one or move the content to another workspace.

Also, based on the content of the pages (mostly texts with some not too big pictures and comments), it's hard to understand how 5GB would have been used up (but I don't know how the data is stored within the backend SharePoint services).

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Jason,

We have the same situation with one of our workspaces here.

There is no chance to delete any of the data the documentation refers to.

Also, when the message "out of storage" appears, there is no longer a chance to select the text.

Which means you cannot copy any data to a new workspace.

This makes the loop app useless especially when you cannot see the actual size of a workspace.

    Hello David Barna

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have an issue in regard to the error message you encountered "Out of Storage". Let’s work together in finding the best resolution to this issue.

The "Out of Storage" error message usually appears when the storage limit for your Microsoft 365 account has been reached. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    • Check your storage usage: Go to the OneDrive website and check your storage usage. You can do this by clicking on the gear icon in the upper-right corner and selecting "Site settings" > "Storage Metrics". This will show you how much storage you are using and how much is available.
    • Delete unnecessary files: If you find that you are using a lot of storage, try deleting unnecessary files to free up space. You can do this by going to the OneDrive website and selecting the files you want to delete, then clicking on the "Delete" button.
    • Clear your browser cache: Sometimes, the "Out of Storage" error message can be caused by a browser cache issue. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies and then refreshing the page.

We look forward to your next response.

    Hello David Barna

    Good Day!

Thank you so much for all the information above. Let me continue to help you.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with the 5GB limit on Loop workspaces and the inability to extend the storage or determine the size of data consumed. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

At the moment, there is no way to extend the storage limit for Loop workspaces. However, you can try reducing the size of data in the workspace by deleting any unnecessary files or data. You can also try compressing any large files to reduce their size.

Regarding the support documentation about deleting revision history of the pages, it is possible that the function has not been released to the public yet. I suggest keeping an eye on any updates or announcements from Microsoft regarding this feature.

You may send a feedback in regard to your main issue. You may access the link below and go to the bottom part of the page where it says "Feedback".

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for your reply.

Loop workspaces have a 5GB limit that is not tied to the any MS 365 account (I wish they were; I have plenty of space on my OneDrive). As of now, the storage can't be extended (it might be an option later) and there is no way to tell what size of data has been consumed already in that space. The service that is providing the storage for Loop is SharePoint and it's not tied to any MS365 account.

Also, the support documentation about deleting revision history of the pages appears to mention a function which does not exist at the moment, or it has not been released to the public. Loop app Public Preview limits - Microsoft Support

I'm completely stuck, the workspace is frozen with this message and without losing data, there does not seem to be anything that can be done to reduce the size of the data to get the workspace back into working order.

    David
