Share a File in Teams during a meeting

Hi can we share a file that has been saved to the Teams group during a meeting while sharing a screen?  We keep going out to a file saved elsewhere on our computer.  The updated file has been saved in the team, can it be opened on the shared screen and discussed?  Thank you

    I don't know if this is the same issue, but people joining a meeting that is ongoing are not able to see previous chat or the files that are being shared in the files section. 

    Late participants get a permission request screen when trying to access the files. 

    Are we doing something wrong? We need anyone joining that call to be able to see and access the attached files.

    Thanks Brian.  Are there instructions how somewhere?  Our moderator keeps trying during the meetings but can't find how to get to and open the file in teams while sharing his screen.  I can find steps on the website how to share other files, but not steps how to share the file in the channel/saved on Teams.  Thanks  Kelly

    Thanks Brian, yes it is a file on the teams channel he would try to access and open and can't.  Most of the files there were created by him, so he should have permission.  They did switch to someone else's screen, and they could not find how to get at the files on the channel while in the meeting either.  I have not tried, I just looked here  for instructions to share, and can't find instructions.  They can't seem to get to the channel while in the meeting and sharing the screen....  Thanks  Kelly

    Hi Kelly, has the file been uploaded to the teams channel? If so, does the moderator have access permission to that channel? Have you tried reversing roles as moderator and tried yourself to open/share the file in the Teams channel?

    Hi Kelly,

    Yes, you can open/share/discuss file during a screen share. If you upload to Files on your team channel, then all members belonging to that channel can access. Example would be uploading, or create a new Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Form and collaborate together. If you walk away and come back, it will notify you who made the last modification.
