Student turn on webcam, but other students and teacher don't see student

The problem is not the camera. The problem is the desktop-app Teams.

Students see themself in de right bottom corner, when they join a meeting / call. The problem is that other students and the teacher don't see the student on camera in the meeting / call.

So, I think it is a software problem in Teams Desktop-app.

Because, when Teams don't communicate in the desktop-app with the camera, the student is unavailble to see themself in the right bottom corner in a call or meeting / call, right?

So, the problem is that since Teams Desktop version 1.3.00.xxxx student turn on the camera in a meeting or call, see themself in the right bottom corner, but other participans don't see anyting from the camera. And that's a problem on a specific laptop (Dell Latitude 3189).

Rolling back to an older build did the trick!

I have managed to find a work around however we are not able to push this fix out in mass due to the reason of Teams being installed on each users appdata profile. I found that when you delete the local files (Teams Installs in each user appdata) and re-install the software, it does resolve the camera problem. Unfortunately, with most of our Dell 3189 laptops being used 100 percent remote, I am not able to achieve this with our Ivanti Software tool as I would if the student devices were visiting our local network. This is quite an annoyance for us but I just wanted to report my findings since we've been working on this for a few days now. 

Our plan now is to copy a batch file and Teams installer down to each computer and present the student with an icon (batch file) that will go through, kill the teams process, delete the C drive files, re-install teams and open it back up - then delete itself (the batch file). THIS DOES fix the problem in our findings. If anyone is able to pinpoint the exact corrupt file in the Teams install directory, please due share.

I hope that explanation is able to help others although it is NOT a simple fix due to the Teams application installing in the Appdata folder for each user.

Het probleem doet zich alleen voor met de Teams app en niet via teams.microsoft.com

Het probleem doet zich alleen voor op een Latitude 3189

Maar het blijft vreemd dat het probleem zich alleen op deze Latitude zich voordoet.

Please make sure that students have the latest drivers for your camera.

1. Go to Windows start > type in Device Manager > Cameras or Imaging Devices.
2. Right-click your webcam from the device list, select Update Driver,
3. click on Auto Update on a new screen please click on Auto Update.
4. Restart your computer so it can take effect.
