Can my employer listen in or record my audio calls to other employees in TEAMS?

Now that I and my coworkers are working from home, we often use the audio call feature in TEAMS to discuss work matters or have personal conversations...much like we would do if we were physically in an office atmosphere and visiting each other in our offices or walking the hallways of the office building. I am concerned that my employer is able to listen in and/or record my audio calls to other employees without my knowledge. Is this possible? Is there a way for me to know if my employer is doing this?

    Hi Tessa1959,

The organisations do have access to chat and conversation. However, private audio calls are not monitored with in MS Teams.

There is no capability in MS teams that would allow anyone outside private call to record your conversation.

    Regards

    Nik

Thank you for the response, Nik. While your answer relieves me somewhat, I am still wary. I work for a State run organization. They have pulled Skype Chat conversations in the past and used them against employees. I am very concerned that now that we are using TEAMS instead of Skype and using the person to person audio call feature consistently, that they have the ability to listen in on those calls and/or record them. Your answer indicates that they don't have the capability to do that. Correct? Also, what do you mean by "safe until it is disclosed by one"? Thank you!

Thank you, Nik. I was hoping for a simple yes or no answer to my question but I guess that's not possible? Does my employer have the capability to listen and/or record my one to one audio calls in TEAMS with another employee?
