Camera not working

Anonymous

I am having a problem getting my camera working during online interviews and meetings because I share my Microsoft teams with my teenage daughter and it seems their school administrator has disabled the video chat or conference.

I have an interview today at 12noon and urgently need help to fix this before the time.

Thanks

    Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

First of all, I'd to let you know this is a peer-to-peer support forum meaning I'm just fellow regular MS Team forum users like you who are trying to help other MS Team forum users with their MS Team issue. So in this case, I'm Non-Microsoft Staff I don't have access to your account nor I'm authorized to do so. I hope we can have a mutual understanding from the beginning to avoid misunderstanding.

    Back to your main issue.

I have provided checklists below if you have an issue with your camera, please check one by one:

    1. Please press the Windows logo key + I to Windows Settings > Privacy > Camera. Choose apps that can use your camera, please make sure it's turned on for MS Teams. https://www.howtogeek.com/221864/digging-into-a...
    2. On MS Teams app click your profile picture at the top of Teams, then Settings > Devices. Under Camera, Please make sure you select the preferred camera and see a preview of that camera's video.
    3. For troubleshooting purpose please disable your Antivirus for a while: https://windowsreport.com/fix-antivirus-blockin...
    4. If you use a built-in webcam on your laptop, does your laptop have a webcam cover? Please make sure nothing covers your webcam. please see this video: https://streamable.com/oeh09b
    5. Please make sure you kill other apps that use your camera such as Skype, Webex, Zoom call app etc from tasks manager, press Ctrl+Alt+Del then kill any other apps that potentially use your camera.
    6. If MS Teams still has not detected your camera yet, have you tried unplugging your external webcam and plugging it back in? Have you restarted your computer?
    7. Are you experiencing the same problem when using MS Teams online? Please go to https://teams.microsoft.com by using Chrome and Edge as recommended browsers.

If the problem still persists then please reinstall the camera drivers. Go to Windows start menu button > type in Device Manager > Cameras or Imaging Devices. Please right-click your webcam from the device list then select Update Driver, on a new screen please click on Auto Update. Restart your computer so it can take effect.
