    I had tried to uninstall all audio devices in Device Manager as you suggested but it didn't work.

    I had also done a troubleshooting in "Sound"' - both output and input, the problems found was "Audio services not responding - not fixed".

    In "Manage Sound Devices" - the list of all devices are: Output Devices - Speakers (2 Realtek(R) Audio), Input Devices - Stereo Mix (2 Realtek(R) Audio), there's no sign of the Logitech speakers.

    Anyway thanks very much for your efforts to help out.  I'll take the speakers to a computer shop using a similar computer to do a test to ascertain if it's the hardware problems with my computer.  Thanks again.

    I have exactly the same problem and have tried all the suggestions. Windows 10 simply does not recognise these brand-new out of the box Logitech Z120 speakers nor does it recognise older speakers that worked perfectly on my desktop.

    thanks for ur prompt response;

    the speaker is not faulty, i’ve taken the speaker back to the shop that i recently bought it and it worked there;

    i’ve tried all the steps u mentioned but all in vain, the computer is not even able to detect the speaker itself.

    the computer manufacturer (Lenovo) explained, from past experiences, that the sound issue is not a hardware problem but due to Windows 10 updates that crashed with their sound systems in certain models, and unfortunately mine is one of them; they went thru with me on the phone trying different ways and finally got it resolved, the speaker is now working properly.

    for ur info., in Device Manager, under “Sound, video and game controllers”, there’re (1) Intel(R) Display Audio, and (2) Realtek(R) Audio,

    in Control Panel’s “Devices and Printers”, the Logitech Unifying Receiver (for the remote mouse) shows up, but not the Z120 speaker.
