MS Teams telling me that I need to enable permission to screen share on my mac, but I have already enabled it

When I try to screen share on Teams (on my MacBook), I get a message that says "we need permission to screen share. Open system preferences." However, I have already clicked in my Settings to enable Teams to record and control my screen and restarted the program, and the error message still persists. When I click the screen share icon, my only option is the whiteboard, none of my own windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello EmilyFZ,

    Thanks for your post in Microsoft community.

    Based on our knowledge, generally after allow Teams app for screen recording from Security & Privacy settings of Mac, we can share our screen but based on your post, seems you can only share Whiteboard. So given this situation, we would like to suggest you to check if you have entire screen sharing permission or not. For this you need to contact your organization’s Microsoft 365 admin or It admin. If you have admin rights, you can check it by follow the below steps.

    To do so :

    • Login to Teams admin center > go to Users > select/double click your user account > go to policies > select meeting policy > go to Content sharing > Screens sharing mode set as entire screen.
    • To learn more, please check Content sharing.

    Also make sure that your Teams client app and your Mac OS both are updated with latest version/software.
