Joining Teams from different organisations

Hello,

I am affiliated with two Universities and I am in a Team from one of them - the other University has now invited me to join one of their Teams but when I click on the link, it opens Teams showing the first University and I can see no way to add/join the second.

I hope that makes sense and it would be good to know if that's possible.

Thanks for your help!

Laurence

    Hi Laurencheill,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

Yes, yes can join multiple Organization team as a guest.
Please follow the steps to join a team as a guest from here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/join...

Also, once you join one Organization it allow you to switch between Organization.

If you already use the Teams app in your organization joining a team as a guest is a lot simpler.

    1. Just open Microsoft Teams app and choose Yes to switch to the team you are invited to. Now you can collaborate on the project in Teams.
    2. To switch back to your company's team, select it from the Organization drop-down.

    Regards
    Nik

If you see any problem accepting invitation then please try to open the link in browser and use MS team web app instead.

In our case, we have a user that is licensed (E3).  He received an invitation to join a Team from another tenant.  When he clicks the link, he is taken to the teams landing page that prompts to open in the browser or to use the desktop app.  It never prompts to accept the invitation.

I created a trial tenant, created a Team, and sent him a invitation - same results.   We have tried IE and Chrome.  I suggested for him to try to copy the invite URL and paste into incognito...it didn't work.
