How do you get the square root symbol when writing a message in Teams.  I tried alt 251 but that didn't work

    Hi Mr. Varley,

    Thank you for choosing Microsoft forum.

    Regarding your concern, I've tested from my end. I'm able to type ALT+251 to generate the (square root symbol) on both my Teams desktop client and Teams web app ( https://teams.microsoft.com/ ).

    But, since it's not available from your end, I would recommend you either checking your Teams update ( See Update Microsoft Teams ) or using the Character Map ( See Insert ASCII or Unicode Latin-based symbols and characters ) to realize this.

    Take Windows 10 PCs for an example, type "character" in the search box on the task bar, and choose Character Map from the results. 

    And select the options as follows:

    Paste the symbol to wherever you want.
