    Hi Sergio,

I'm not referring to the Labels, which I created and yes have many different colors.

I'm not referring to board background, which is set as the standard White background.

I'm am referring to the task/card background.

In the image below I've numbered each Task/Card.

    • All the Green items:
      • 1 = white background.
      • 2 = white background.
      • 3 = white background.
      • 4 = white background.
      • 5 = white background.
    • All the Red items:
      • 6 = Gray background.
      • 7 = Gray background.
      • 8 = Gray background.
      • 9 = Gray background.
      • 10 = Gray background.
      • 11 = Gray background.

Which Tasks/Cards have which color background is not a setting and not controlled by us.

My question is: What is the function of the background color change, why does it change.

    Thanks,

    M

    Hi Sergio,

No I don't want to customize the background or other elements. I want to understand WHY it is that some of the tasks shown in MS Planner are showing as Gray and some White. We have no control over this and want to understand what information is being reflected.

There is a clear image in the original post, It shows a planner board, with several gray and white cards. If I reloaded that board now it would have different cards in each color.

    Thanks,
    M.

I saw this same behavior today for the first time. Refreshed and they were all white again. Did you confirm it is displaying gray anything that changed since you last viewed it? Thanks!

I believe the answer to your question is, yes. When a task has changed since your last visit to the plan (maybe even the task itself), it will be gray.

On a side note, this seemed to be how it worked, but doesn't seem to be working for me anymore. All I get now is a pop-up that says how many tasks have changed, but not which ones. Is it still functioning this way for you?

By the way, I've seen your question asked elsewhere and the same response was given. I'm amazed MS support cannot understand such a simple question.

Hi, I'm Sergio, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft Team customer just like you, and it's a pleasure to help you.

You understand in your post that you want to Customize a Taskboard, particularly, the background color or styles. i recomend you that check this post:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/b...

for more details about this topic.

however i will need to know which app you use for planing (Microsoft Planner, microsoft project, or other ).

    Greetings.
