Camera not displaying in HD in Teams (But works fine in other apps)

I am attempting to use a Raleno 1080P Webcam with Teams but it's not working properly.

When I open the camera using the Windows app "Camera" it looks great, and when I use it with Zoom it also works fine, but when I try to use the camera in Teams, the camera is cropped and edges are very aliased. People on meetings with me report that I appear to be fuzzy.

There don't really appear to be any drivers available for this camera. The Camera app reports that the camera is operating in 1080.

Any ideas to make Teams recognize what other apps already see?

Interesting thought. I have experience with OBS and NDI, but don't feel like I should need to go through all that to be able to do a routine business meeting.

Ended up on a Cisco WebEx meeting today, and the camera works fine there too. So exactly why should I bog my system down with an OBS/NDI solution to make a generic webcam work only with Teams?

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my concerns. I'm not sure that this explanation rings completely true, since I haven't had any issues using the web client, and I have been able to use other cameras in HD within Teams.

Ideally I would be able to control the resolution of the camera within Teams somehow, but no handles are given to be able to try different settings. Perhaps Windows could offer those handles as well within the hardware settings.

To reiterate, this camera works great in every other video conference software I have tried. Unfortunately our organization is primarily a Teams shop.

It seems that Teams is tripping over this one specific camera for some reason. Hopefully future updates will be able to make it work.

    Hi pbrowntv,

As of today, camera resolution settings are not available in MS Teams yet. I could find an existing Microsoft UserVoice, where several users have requested this feature that is still in discussion.

Hi, the camera is an external/added camera, Raleno C30. It is connected to my PC via USB.

The camera does work within the web version of Teams. I've attached a couple of screen grabs.
