Phillips P499P9H Webcam Not Seen by Windows

The above inbuilt webcam on the monitor was working fine until last week. It is no longer visible in any VC software or as a device within Device Manager.

How do I get it working again?

    Jan,

    I’m getting a message on the install saying “Can not find device, Abort install!”

    Any ideas?

    The USB driver is installing partially but is greyed out. i.e. Not recognised by Windows.

    Hello, I'm Jan and I'm happy to help you today. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this problem. Most likely due to camera driver problem after an update. Here are some things your can try.

    1. Try each troubleshooting steps from this support article.

    1. Download the driver from the Philips support website.

    A. Download the "Drivers for Windows 7" as it includes the Webcam driver installer

    Unzip the file

    Open the Hello Webcam folder

    right-click on the "setup.exe"

    properties>compatibility

    Check Run this program in compatibility mode

    change the Compatibility mode to Windows 7

    click ok

    then open the file again to install.

    restart your computer.

    B. Open Device Manager

    click View > show hidden devices

    Check if the webcam is listed in Camera or Imaging devices

    Right-click on your webcam

    Update driver

    Browse my computer for driver

    Click Browse

    locate the Hello Webcam driver

    click ok then next

    If that didnt work try to uninstall the driver

    Restart your computer.

    then reinstall the driver.
