MS Teams assignment uploads - restricting file type and number

Dear all,

we are trying to find out whether it is possible to adjust settings for our lecturers' assignments.

The students here are supposed to upload their work on MS Teams assignments in PDF documents and with only one document per assignment. However, many students just upload multiple files and some upload open files such as .docx instead.

Is there perhaps any way of playing with settings for MS Teams as a whole - or for individual "class" type groups in MS Teams - to limit upload to single file and PDF only?

Thanks for any hints,

Tim Kremser

    Dear Tim,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I'm afraid that there are no such settings meeting your requirementrs in Teams Assignments.

As a workaround, you may create a site library for students to upload the assignment files, restrict the file content type with only the Word file template, hide the Upload button with the CSS code and finally use Power Automate to automatically convert the Word files to PDF files. You can also limit the file upload number based on the created time by the flow as well. If you need further help on the flow, welcome to post back with your updates at your convenience.

As our product developers are willing to hear feedback from users for product improvements, I kindly suggest you submit your feedback on the Feedback platformto convey your suggestions and ideas to the product developers directly so that they will know your requirements in your environment for further investigation.
