Microsoft Teams is asking for free access to my other devices?

I'm currently in hospital and am trying to join my lessons over Teams on my IOS devices. However, whenever I try to join, I am told that Teams needs the Local Network permission. This is the permission that grants it full access to my other devices and is absolutely not needed for making a call over a server that is quite far away and not local at all. Until I get answers, I won't be granting this permission.

    Hi Simbarashe, thanks for replying.

I don't mean to be rude, but could you please explain why Teams needs this permission? From what I know of the iOS system, Local Network is only used for actions such as streaming to a TV or Remote Play on the Xbox, so I don't understand why this setting is required to make a call. I understand there may be an element of security involved to ensure I'm not someone else using this account, but, once again, I don't see how the Local Network system can be used for this purpose as its only use that I know of is for wireless streaming.

Hi Simbarase. I tried to record the full video, but I realised that this would mean posting my friend's name and profile picture on this site. Instead, I was only able to use this photo. This alert appears whenever I try to do anything relating to joining or making a call:

    Hope this helps

    Hello TotherKoala,

Thank you for your detailed response. This notification should be due to your device settings. On your devise click settings > Teams > allow local network. Since you are in a different location Teams wants to access local network to make calls and if you do not want to allow it you can leave it as it is.

We look forward to your reply. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
