When I am using the desktop version of Teams the chat isnt updating with messages either during meetings or at any other time.  However the mobile app on my phone is updating with the messages.  Have I changed something on the desktop by accident?  Ive checked settings which show that I should get notifications.  Thanks

Ok, but seriously: if you have to do all that every time your application does not work, isn’t that a bug of the application? Why it should be always a mess for users to try to understand how to bypass problems due to weak applications?

The same problems happens to me. I'm missing urgent notifications and it's making Teams practically unusable unless I use the app version.

Experiencing the same issue. When switching between organizations the chat doesn't update and I don't get notifications. The only reason I know there is a new message is through the mobile app because I get a notification over there. Need to restart every time, even when I'm in an active conversation. Have missed multiple urgent messages this way.

I've had the same problem after restarting my laptop (ThinkPad l480). The solution I found was to remove Teams from Strartup in Task Manager and manually start it after the computer fully booted. You might have to delete all the content from %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams first and make sure Teams is working properly before restarting the computer.

I have the same problem with my Mac. Works fine on iPhone and iPad so get notifications there. The problem started a couple of weeks ago for me
