    Hi Friends,

As I mentioned earlier, Microsoft is already aware of this issue. As we wait for a permanent solution, please continue to use any of the workarounds below:

    1. Fully sign out and sign in to Teams
    2. Clear your Teams cache
    3. Try using the Teams web version
    4. Uninstall and reinstall Teams app.
    5. Restart your device. Make sure it is a up to date.

We are locking this thread as there is no one permanent solution to this problem.

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Regards,

I would expect chat to be the most basic and simple function of the entire app, yet it's broken and unreliable. I'm having to relog almost daily to restore missing messages in the desktop app. I'm going to guess that Microsoft doesn't care either with Teams 2.0 on the way.

    Hi Friends,

This seems to be a bug that Microsoft is aware of. As a temporary suggestion, could you ask the affected users to sign out fully and sign in back and check if the missing chats are appearing once again. You may try reinstalling Teams if logging out doesn’t help.

The issue has been under review here: I'm missing some chat history – Welcome to UserVoice!

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Hi Daniel,

We got more than 3 users MS Teams chat lost in MS Teams desktop app. but we can find those chat in MS Teams online https://teams.microsoft.com

We tried to uninstall MS Teams App & install again by "Download the desktop app" from online MS Teams. after installed & wait for some times then user can see all chat like online version for few days without problem, after few days or 1 week, the same issue happen again.

I guess this is bug of the MS Teams desktop app which cannot store all chat in local disk under certain circumstances. Could you please help to advise the following :

    • How to fix this issue
    • Where the chat data (include Teams group) stored in local disk

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

I wonder whether they are experiencing the same issue when using MS Teams online.

Please follow these steps below to isolate the issue:

    1. Please ask them to go to the computer then open the chrome or edge browser as the only recommended browsers to access MS Teams online.
    2. Please ask them to visit MS Teams online https://teams.microsoft.com
    3. Then try to log in.

Are they experiencing the same issue when they are using MS Teams online from their computer?

    Disclaimer:
