I am an educator, and I need to be able to share my PPT presentation and see chat and my students' faces.

Hi Andrejs, I discovered after posting my original question that when you initiate screen or window sharing, and the participant view shrinks to a small single camera image, you can click directly in the middle of that camera image to restore the Teams meeting window to normal, allowing viewing of all participants and controls. It is not intuitive, there are no indicators to lead you to this action, you just have to know about the option.

That solution just brings back the Teams launch window which does provide a workaround but ideally I'd like to see (along with countless others) all the participants above my sharing view - Zoom like. Effectively the view that I know the people I'm presenting to have! It's not rocket science is it? Or am I missing something Microsoft?

Thanks for sharing this tip, Ross, and couldn't agree more: it is completely not intuitive. It also feels like a feature/behavior that most people are looking for! Being able to keep an eye on the other participants while I share something on my screen helps me pick up on cues like whether people are following, have a question based on something to share – you know, all of the things that I'd be able to do if we were in-person. IMO this behavior should be the default (ahemmm, like it is in zoom....) or at least more clear.

    Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

There are a few ways to see other participants when you are screen sharing.

    Solution 1: Use presenter view.

Please refer to the following article:

    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsof...

However, If you like to use presenter view without needing to see the participants' faces on the bottom of the screen then you can activate the focus mode. Please select (…) next to the raising hand icon > Select focus mode.

Solution 2:  If you want to see participants' faces on the large gallery view during screen sharing as well as the chat.

In this case, you need to use both a web browser & MS Team desktop app at the same time to access MS Team, the following approach will be even much better if you have 2 monitors.

    • Use a web browser to screen share & to see the chat.

Please open your chrome or edge browser as the only recommended browsers then visit https://teams.microsoft.com then screen share from there.

    • Use the MS Team desktop app to see participants.

On the MS Team desktop app, you can enable a large gallery view. This feature enables you to see up to 49 participants on the screen. This view is available when there are 10 or more attendees who are sharing the video. More about the gallery view feature explained in the following articles:

    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsof...

If you think using the large gallery view feature is not necessary then you can use the MS Team desktop app for screen sharing instead.

Is there a way to see participants if I just share my screen and show other content, not PowerPoint?
