Create a recurring Teams meeting with NO fixed time

We would like to create individual meeting links for families we work with and have them stored in our, and their own, systems without having:

  • to create a new meeting each time
  • it show in our calendars and reminders
  • all the recurring meetings showing when we log into Teams

In Zoom you can do this by creating a recurring meeting and choosing "no fixed time".

Can this be replicated in Teams? We want to move away from Zoom and start using Teams for all our meetings but it depends on being able to do this.

There is a complex way to hide these meetings from your calendar which we have tried, but:

  • we are looking for an easier way without having to do this (such as in Zoom)
  • it still sends reminders through our phone calendar which is annoying

Seems that Teams hasn't implemented anything yet.

Here is my work around using the "New Teams" desktop app:

    1. Create a new meeting
    2. Set to All day meeting
    3. Set meeting to repeat daily (or M-F) with an end date that is far in the future.
    4. Selected "Show as: free" so that you don't block your whole calendar.

The meeting link should work whenever you decide that you need to meet. I hope this helps.

Hi Martha, I know how to create a recurring meeting but this article does not tell me what I need to know:

How to create a recurring meeting with NO FIXED TIME so that it doesn't create a series.

These instructions are for creating a series.

What we need is to give people a link they can use over and over for our meetings with them but at various and different times without creating a series. Maybe a recurring meeting is not the answer here.

    Hi,

It's 6 months on since this request - since it would be very easy to add another option to the recurrence series dropdown list could you please update us on this and tell us how to add a 'NO FIXED TIME' ?

    Regards,

    Joe

Okay, is there any way to create a Teams link that can be shared with someone that they (and we) can use over and over at different times without having to create new ones all the time?

That's really what I'm wanting without creating a recurring meeting that puts lots of events into the calendar.

Unfortunately, it is currently impossible to create a reoccurring meeting with no fixed time. All reoccurring meeting will always have a start and end time. You could suggest this feature on Microsoft Teams through the link below:
