Microsoft Teams crashes on startup

Anonymous

Microsoft Teams repeatedly crashes on startup. The Teams window is displayed for 10-20 seconds and then the app crashes and restarts. Often it does this enough times that it finally displays a screen indicating it had a problem starting.

Here is the error summary from a typical Event Viewer log entry. There are dozens of these.

    Please try the following:

    1. Turn on and off the device
    2. Unistall and install the app
    3. Clear Cache

    Clear Teams cache in Windows

If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar, and then select Quit.

Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key +R.

In the Run dialog box, enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, and then select OK.

Delete all files and folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory.

    Restart Teams.

Please let me know if this doesn't work or if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.

There's not an error code in the Teams UI - only a note that says Teams experienced a glitch.

    Image

Let the glitch happen enough times and Teams pauses trying to restart to let you know about the problem.

Correlated with all this is the eventlog records:

The error records all match what I posted above. I noticed there's also an accompanying information record that contains what I believe is a .NET dump as well as paths to a Dr Watsion-style dump below. Based on what I'm seeing, I feel like there's something amiss with the ksproxy.ax, but I don't know how to fix this.

For me to further assist you, can you share a screenshot of the error code that you encounter with Teams.

    Thank you.

This did not solve the problem. I tried all the solutions in the link, but Teams continues to crash and restart and I continue to see the ksproxy.ax error in the event log.
