Replacement for Microsoft ACCESS

I have been generating ACCESS reports for years. The ability to format a report in "design" gives me the ability to place data fields anywhere on the report, generate calculations, and group. In a TEAM environment, I am unable to allow large number of people to work on a front load screen and run the reports. ACCESS runs very slowly over a corporate network spanning the entire United States.

The question is, is there a replacement for ACCESS, that has all the report design ability that ACCESS has, but is very user friendly over a network and integrated into TEAMS?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. I am here to help and provide assistance with any questions or concerns you may have.

There are several alternatives to Microsoft Access that have similar report design capabilities and are more user-friendly over a network and integrated into Teams. Some popular options include:

Microsoft Power BI: This is a business intelligence and data visualization tool that can connect to a variety of data sources and create interactive reports and dashboards. It has a drag-and-drop report design interface and can be integrated with Teams.

Power BI can be integrated with Microsoft Teams. This integration allows users to share and collaborate on Power BI reports and dashboards directly within Teams.

There are a few different ways to integrate Power BI with Teams:

    • Power BI tab: You can add a Power BI tab to a Teams channel, allowing users to view and interact with a specific report or dashboard directly within Teams.

    • Power BI app: You can install the Power BI app in Teams, which allows users to access all of their Power BI content, including reports and dashboards, directly within Teams.

    • Power BI embedded in a website: You can embed a Power BI report or dashboard in a website, and then share that website as a tab in Teams.

    • Power BI embedded in a teams app : You can develop a teams app using Power BI embedded, that will allow users to access and interact with the report or dashboard within teams.

Additionally, Power BI supports alerts and data driven alerts that can be set up on reports and dashboards and these alerts will be delivered to the user through Teams.

By integrating Power BI with Teams, users can easily share and collaborate on reports and dashboards with others in their organization, without having to leave the Teams environment.

    Additional services could include:

Tableau: This is a data visualization tool that can connect to a variety of data sources and create interactive reports and dashboards. It has a drag-and-drop report design interface and can be integrated with Teams.

Google Data Studio: This is a free, cloud-based data visualization tool that can connect to a variety of data sources and create interactive reports and dashboards. It has a drag-and-drop report design interface and can be integrated with G Suite.

Looker: This is a business intelligence platform that allows you to explore, analyze and visualize data from various sources. it has a drag-and-drop report design interface and can be integrated with Slack, Zoom and other collaboration tools.

It's worth to check and compare the features, pricing, and ease of use of each tool, to find the one that best suits your needs.
