MS Teams Channel Meeting - How to edit?

Hi there,

I'm struggling to edit a meeting series that was set up by another Channel owner in MS Teams. The organizer of the meeting is the name of our channel when looking at it in Outlook but it's the person's name in the Teams calendar.

I've been reading this page - Schedule a meeting in Teams (microsoft.com) but it doesn't have anything about editing an already established meeting series.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Emer

    Hello Emer,

    Thank you for your response.

To answer your query, Unfortunately Yes. Regardless of the meeting setup (channel or private meeting), the meeting organizer reserves full permissions to the meeting set up by themselves. Only them can access the edit option to the meeting from the calendar.

I do apologize if there is any inconvenience caused. If you have any further query, please let me know.

    Best Regards

Thank you for this detailed response.

To confirm the steps you are providing are steps relating to a meeting set up within a private Teams team. The Teams team has 3 owners. Are you saying that within a team only the person who created the meeting series can edit or delete it and that having other owners doesn't help in anyway to meetings set up?

    Thank you,

    Emer

    Hello Emer,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help!

Per your description, you need to edit a meeting series set up by your channel owner. Firstly, please note that only the meeting organizer can make changes/edit a scheduled meeting.

On the organizer’s calendar, select/click on your series meeting in Teams Calendar, select Edit. You will then get two options:

    1. Edit Occurrence – All changes will apply that meeting occurrence that has been selected.
    2. Edit Series – All changes will apply to all the meeting series.

To change a recurring appointment, meeting, from outlook,

When you open a recurring appointment, meeting, or event, Outlook will ask you if you want to open just this one event or the entire series of events.

If you'd like to edit a single instance of a recurring item, select Just this one. Otherwise, select The entire series. You can make changes to the appointment, event, or meeting details, recurrence patterns, and attendees. When you're done, select Save & Close for appointments and events or Send Update for meetings.

Note: You can't change the details for meetings or events other people have invited you to.

For more info, please see Change an appointment, meeting, or event (microsoft.com)

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there are any misunderstandings or concerns.
