New Teams Pre version vs. Old Teams - Missing Contacts toggle / drop down

New Teams Pre version - Like many others, I use the Contacts drop down as my main contact feature. It took me a lot of time to organize my key contacts into groups. On the prior version, I could easily toggle to the contacts and start my conversations. For the New Teams Pre version, I can only access the chats or start a new conversation but I CANNOT go to my contacts toggle / drop down as it does not exist. Am I missing something as I am not thinknig you would remove such a critcial function?

Please advise and thanks!

Jay

Hello "Joanna". By looking at the style of the reply you give, I assume these are machine-generated.

First, the lack of contacts in the "new" Teams makes it useless. It does not matter which other new functions you add. Contacts are essential.

I have spent years gathering contacts, both internal and global, + external contacts, and they are all sorted by country or company. This is a great help every day for me. Going over to a new Teams without the contacts option will take away one of the most important features of Teams. I will not move to the new Teams. Will you keep the old Teams version for your good customers who are depending on it, or will you force us to switch over to the new Teams? Please do not answer this with your standard "Please refer to the link below that may help you solve the issue." as by now, I am sure you know it does not answer this question. Actually, "Contacts" is not mentioned at all. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteam...

Agreed, I am just hoping that we can always have the old version and that we re not forced to the new version down the road. We switched from Slack and learned to work with Teams and this would be a real hard thing to get used to and frankly not cost-productive

I also dont know how to present this issue to the developer, I tried in several ways buut with no response, even a generic acknolwedgement, but just gave up. I can only put certain effort into this and then i say, "forget it"

Hello - thanks for your prompt reply

The link you sent me is quite exetnsive, so I read through it. I do not see where it covers my concerns as noted above. Can you provide me greater details so that I know how to access my contact heirarchy

Microsoft fumbled on this one. I just installed it, used it for an hour or so, and am now switching back to old Teams.

I had read somewhere else that a new app called "people" was supposed to be the replacement for the missing contacts. Well, today I added the people app and while its nice to have access to all my contacts, its very much not a replacement for the "old" contacts. For one, there is no presence status and I could go on ...
