Additional chat-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Yes, I noticed the same thing. Before I was able to change the skin tone on emojis, I tried to today and it only offers the yellow default emoji, hmm???

I've previously changed my emoji's hair and skin tone to be more accurate to how I look. My settings have reverted to the default emoji of the yellow skin tone and blonde hair. I reached out to my company's MS Teams Admin and they said that only the emoji's with a grey dot in the upper right corner can be customized. The grey dot only appears on certain emoji's. For instance, only the male shrug emoji can be changed, not the female. This is the case on several emoji's including frequently used emoji's like the shrug and facepalm yet there are niche emoji's like a pregnant male that can be customized.
I was able to change the female shrug emoji in the Teams app on my phone but it displays as the default when sent.
Is this a setting within my organization? If not, is there a way to change which emoji's can be customized for hair/skin tone?
This seems strange that the functionality was there previously and isn't anymore. It also seems strange for 2023 that my choices are a customized male emoji or a default yellow/blonde female emoji.

Thanks.
That gets me old emojis and I can select a female facepalm that is a brunette which partially solves my question.
My question is how do I change the skin and hair on the facepalm in the current emoji's? I previously could do this on any of the "people" emojis. Now, it's only select emoji's. For instance, the only facepalm and shrug emoji's that can be changed are the male emoji's. Why did this functionality change and how do I get it back? It seems strange that only male emoji's can be changed and not female emojis.
Thanks.
Thank you for providing this information. Please click Windows + . and after the panel pops up, select a group emoji and click on the plus tab beside it. You'll now be able to choose a face and skin tone to create personalized combinations of that emoji and use on Teams.

Hi Dionalynn,
How can I change the hair and skin tone on any of the "people" emoji's in Teams like I previously could?
Thanks,
Beth
