Opening, sharing, and managing OneDrive-stored documents directly within Microsoft Teams
I am trying to do the exact same thing, I have files in my onedrive that I want to put links to on the Teams page

I have attempted to share with the team from OneDrive online, but I did not see the folder in the Teams files. I do not want to *upload* the folder, since that appears to upload just a *copy* of all the files to the Teams files, meaning that when the files are worked on over Teams, the changes are not made in my OneDrive folder.
I have shared the OneDrive folder with individual people, but this was not a perfect solution, because I want them to work on the contents of the folder with the added functionality that Teams offers.
If what I want turns out not to be doable, and I am forced to upload a copy of the folder to the Teams files, what would then be the best way to automatically sync the Teams file systems to a location on my computer, so they can be automatically backed up to an external drive, like I currently do with my OneDrive file system?

I offered all the possible solutions regarding this point, I'm afraid that this option is not existing for now.
I searched deeper and found that it's a request of a new feature in MS Teams: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/i...
I already upvoted it for you, for me as a user I also find it required to get it directly.
Hello Jane,
Thanks for updating me and for this clarification.
-You just need to add OneDrive, I've attached a screenshot from my Teams.
-For any other steps, as you mentioned, you give them only access of the Folder.
Please feel free to ask additional questions :)
On the second link, I see:
"By sharing files/folders to a teams group, you are only giving the group members access to your files/folders.
The content itself won't appear in the Team's File tab. Because it is still stored in your OneDrive.
Instead, go to Team's associated SharePoint site. There is a link called Shared with us. If you share the content to this team, they will find the files/folder here."
I don't see the folder I tried to share in the "Shared with us" location.
Also, one function I want to use by using Teams is for a member to use the desktop version of Word and Excel, and open from and save to this shared folder. I see they have "Sites - *company name*" as a location, and can go to *company name* > Shared Documents > General. Will they be able to navigate in the same way to a folder that is in the "Shared with us" location?
Hi Jane,
I'm Ahmed and I am happy to help. Thanks for relying on us in your questions!
I just tested some steps in my Teams App, and fortunately it worked!
Yes, you can share Folders with your Team in Microsoft Teams and it will be synced ...here are the steps: https://support.microsoft.com/office/share-a-fo...
-Here is another option offered from a colleague: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/for...
Please be sure to let me know if you need more help as I'll be glad to do so.
