Microsoft Teams - Locally Turn of beep when Users Join Meeting

I do generally enjoy Teams, as it works well for daily work communications, especially when working with remote staff.

That being said, as typically a "member" of a meeting, I am not often the organizer.

As such, I do not care how the "meeting organizer" configures a meeting, however, when using headphones, the incessant beeping when another member joins is not just annoying, but rather painful to the ears.

End users should not have to hear this "beep-beep-beep-beep-beep" blasted away in their headphones every time a user joins a meeting they're in, regardless of what the meeting organizer has configured.

This notification should be an END USER configured item, thus the Meeting organizer can hear the beep should they desire, but the myriad of users who are part of the meeting can opt out of being inundated with this infernal beeping in just because the organizer wants to be informed when people join. This is not good user configurability.

Please update teams to allow users to configure this element and save our hearing.

Thanks

No, Setting "Mute Notifications" does NOT turn this beep off, and turns other wanted notifications off instead.

As for the "Love it or Hate it" feature, that I do not understand. I am not talking about removing the notification when members join a meeting, only allowing the users to configure if a sound is played. More granularity in user configurability is ALWAYS better, even if there are predetermined "defaults". As a programmer myself, I can attest to this, as my user's adore my work because I give them options,

There are notifications for when a user received a message, a notification for when a call rings, just add a checkbox in there for "notification when person joins meeting". Even default it to "On", but allow the notification to go out to those that WANT it, not force it on everyone because of the admin's desires.

I know that the admins can disable the beeps for the meeting, but not all admins are that tech savvy. As well, they may want to know personally as they are managing the meeting. I (and everyone I have ever worked with that isn't running a company wide meeting) adamantly doesn't want that sound - especially because it is extremely shrill and loud right in our headphones. Yet none of us can control that annoyance, only the admin of the meeting.

It's like your boss controlling your personal phone's ring tone when they call. Your boss can call you whenever, but you get to decide what her ringtone is on your phone. That's all I'm suggesting, provide user configurability.

    Thanks

(PS - I'm not coming from Webex, so if they are also asking this, I'm just a programmer and user and I like to control my environment)

    Hello Jaeden,

That is a "love it or hate it" feature - it was frequently requested by people moving over from Webex.

In Settings > Notification, under Meetings and Calls does mute notifications turn it off?

The admin can disable beeps -

You need to leave a suggestion for it in the Teams feedback forum - that is the best way to get feature changes. Post this link in this thread so others can find it.
