How to Change a Channel to a Different Team in Teams

Hello,

Our office uses the team's channels to separate projects into teams. Sometimes the project is taken over by a different team or more recently we have added another team which has adopted a few projects from an existing team. Is there a way we can move a project channel to another team?

This solution requires third-party software. This is a quote from the page linked:

"It is well documented in the User Voice that the ability to move a Microsoft Teams channel to another Team is not supported. Fortunately, there is a product that can achieve this and much more. "

    Hello,

I'm Josephine, happy to help you today.

I'm very sorry about the inconvenience.

    1. Go to the Microsoft Teams management console.
    2. Search for the Team that has the Channel you want to move.
    3. Click ‘Manage’ next to the Team to present a list of Channels within the Team.
    4. Select the Microsoft Teams Channel you want to move and click ‘Move’ from the available actions.
    5. Search for the Team you want to move the Channel to and click ‘Continue’.

I hope it helps! Let me know the results.

    Hi Josephine,

Is this function available right now? I've just checked our MS Teams Admin Console and there is no "move" function available for channels currently.

Can you please elaborate on your solution with some screenshots to show this function in action perhaps?

The link from C. Benn below suggests that MS is still working on implementing it in a future update, so I'm a little bit confused.

    Thanks
