Can I create groups of Teams group chats?

I'm a member of a high number of group chats in Teams which are based around projects in various locations. I'd like to group up the Teams group chats by location but I can't seem to find out how to make custom groups within the list, it just defaults to pinned and recent. I'd like to create custom groupings to add these threads to but I can't see to find how.

    There is no way to this very basic function at this time. At the current pace, MS Teams is about a decade away from having the functionality of the Skype product they replaced. On the bright side, they finally gave us the ability to delete old chats. For now, you are limited to "pinned" & everything else, and the use of the filter search function.

    Unfortunately, the feature is not yet available.

    Hi there, thank you for the reply. Let me clarify my question.

    I know how to make a group chat, I want to be able to group a handful of them into a subheading. For example, if I have 5 separate group chats with the colleagues in New Your City, I want to make a subheading "NYC" and put all 5 group chats under that. I'm just trying to organize my list of group chats better.
