Download or backup Microsoft Teams chat history.

I have left the idea of backing up Teams chat history as admin. I wanted to see if I could do it from an individual user level. I would like to download the chat history of all the employees in the company.

I do have admin access.

Most of the team members have Teams business license.

Some of them have Teams free license.

Could anyone provide me with a guide to how to do it?

I have tried to archive as well and couldn't do it since the screenshots or steps don't match my screen.

    Hi, Michael,

    At this time, there is no direct way for non-admins to download the chat history. However, if you have access to the Microsoft 365 admin center, downloading it would be possible.
