How do you export a Wiki in Teams to OneNote

Microsoft has announced that they are going to disable Wikis in Teams and suggest that people use OneNote instead. These instructions (https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/export-a-wiki-to-a-onenote-notebook-8cd8ab0c-2314-42b0-a1d0-5c6c4c5e1547) state that you can export a Teams Wiki to OneNote. The instructions indicate that from the Wiki tab in Teams, I should select Get Details and Export to Notes. I don't have those options. When I select the tab that has the wiki, my options are Expand tab, reload tab, copy link to tab, rename, about this tab, remove.

    Hello.

I suspect by now (since the post was from April) that this has been solved. For those of you who may still be challenged with this, You should see a yellow information bar at the top with the message: “Wiki tabs in channels will go away starting in June 2023. You can export your content to a new Notes tab that will be created for this channel.”

Click on the "Get Details" and you will see further information. and on the bottom a link to "Export Notes" which does just that. From there its pretty simple as MSFT does it all for you. Couple of nuances though. This is only working for Wiki's with content, If you do not have content in your WIKI then you won't see the message. Also, Private Channels with Wiki's will need to be manually moved.

What to expect when you export:

    • Each wiki page will be saved in as a separate page (in OneNote) in the Notes tab
    • Some changes to formatting, such as font style and spacing, may occur
    • keep a read-only version of your content in the Wiki app for reference
    • In Notes, you can take notes and organize content for this channel

Thanks Godswill. I did go to the Message Center to look for an update and it stated that the roll out would be complete by the end of March. So I expected it to be available since we are nearly a week into April. Thanks for your clarification.

    I've got this massage:

Wiki tabs in channels will go away starting in September 2023. We suggest copying and saving your Wiki content somewhere that’s easy for your team to access.
