How to get calls to ring from PC speakers AND headset? "Secondary Ringer" options aren't enough.

I just got a new headset. I only wear the headset when I'm taking a call or meeting. Otherwise, it sits on my desk. With my old headset, calls would ring on my laptop speakers and the headset simultaneously. I would hear the incoming call from the PC speakers and answer via headset. With my new (bluetooth) headset, it only rings on the headset. Since I don't have it on my head at all times, I don't hear it ring and miss the call completely. Per screenshot, I went into Settings to select a Secondary Ringer but my only options are my new headset (Jabra) and my old headset (Realtek). I would assume that "PC Speakers" would be an option but ... it isn't. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi again, Didi, and apologies for not replying to this sooner! You're absolutely right! I can't believe I only had to select an option that was there the whole time. But you're correct: once I selected Realtek as my secondary ringer, it now rings in both places. Thank you so much for helping me!

    Hi, az_chelefish,

Sorry to hear about this issue.

If you're on Windows, you may try clearing the Teams cache by doing the following steps and see if there's any difference:

    1. Quit Microsoft Teams. Right-click the icon and select Quit.
    2. Cut and paste %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams into File Explorer.
    3. Delete the contents of the entire folder or delete the Teams folder itself.
    4. Restart your device then sign back into Microsoft Teams.

If it doesn't help, you may consider checking for the latest Teams update by selecting the "Settings and more menu" (...) next to your profile picture at the top right of Teams, and then selecting "Check for updates".

Should the issue persist, I suggest uninstalling the desktop app. Then, reinstall "Teams for work/school" using this download link: https://aka.ms/GetTeams.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Thank you, Michele.

I did a test on my Windows 11 device by selecting Realtek Audio for the speaker and I was able to hear incoming calls from my Bluetooth (Earbuds) headset and PC. Can you also try doing so?

Thanks so much for taking the time, Didi! Really do appreciate it.

Unfortunately, after following those steps, there are still only the previous two options for a secondary ringer. Still on the hunt for a solution!

    Michele
