Additional chat-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for Education
Hello Rajesh,
I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.
It sounds like you're encountering an issue with email delivery from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 Groups during your migration process. Given that emails within Microsoft 365 are working fine, but those from Google Workspace and the Internet to Microsoft 365 Groups are not, here's a simplified explanation and solution:
- DNS Records Update: Since you're in the middle of migrating from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, your domain's MX (Mail Exchange) records are likely still pointing to Google Workspace. You need to update these DNS records to point to Microsoft 365. This tells the internet where to send emails for your domain.
- SPF, DKIM, and DMARC Records: Check and update your SPF (Sender Policy Framework), DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail), and DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) records. These are email authentication methods that help prevent spam. They should align with your new Microsoft 365 setup.
- Email Routing: Ensure that email routing settings in both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 are correctly configured to allow emails to flow to the correct destination.
- Group Settings in Microsoft 365: Verify that your Microsoft 365 Groups are set up to receive emails from external sources. Sometimes, group settings might restrict emails to internal members only.
- Check for Blacklisting: Ensure that your domain or IP hasn't been blacklisted, which can happen if there's a suspicion of spamming.
- Test and Validate: After making these changes, send test emails from different sources to ensure that the issue is resolved.
Please note that DNS changes can take some time to propagate, so it might not be an immediate fix. .
I hope this helps,
Best Regards, Ibhadighi
