Editing the Teams Description

I am trying to edit the description for a team. I have tried to select the Edit Teams option, and I am only presented with the Name, Icon and Privacy options. There is no other category for editing the description. Where am I supposed to do this. Everything on my searches say it's supposed to be here.

    Thank you. I discovered that I am allowed to edit the description in my Teams App, but not the desktop. I will use that for now.

    Thanks Rachel. I can also only edit my Team Description through the Team app on my phone - not the desktop app or the web based Teams! Crazy!

    Thank you for your prompt response. I just created the Teams group and wanted to go back and edit the description. I am listed as the owner. It does not populate under Edit Teams when I select that under More Options. I'm only given the opportunity to change the name of the Teams, the Privacy and the team avatar. I tried to access 365 admin and it says that my email doesn't have permissions for 365 admin login. I can edit my Channel descriptions, it gives me the option under each of my Channels when I select Edit Channel. It populates the Description box where I can write or edit or leave blank that category. I have also closed the application and opened it back up. Any other tips? Thank you!

    Thank you for the follow up.

    I suggest contacting your IT/Admin and have them follow the steps outlined below:

    Go to Office 365 Admin Center, then kindly go to Office 365 Admin Center > Select “Teams” option under from Office 365 Admin Center > Under Team Admin Center > Select Teams > Click on Manage teams > select the team > Click on Edit option > edit description.

    Hello Rachel,

    To edit a team description in Microsoft Teams, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the team you want to edit.
    2. Click on the three dots next to the team's name and select "Manage team".
    3. In the "Settings" tab, you can edit the team's name, description, and other settings as needed.

    If you are unable to edit the team description, it could be due to a lack of permissions. You need to have "Owner" or "Member" permissions to edit a team description. If you don't have these permissions, you can ask your team owner or administrator to grant them to you.

    If you are the admin, please access Office 365 Admin Center, then kindly go to Office 365 Admin Center > Select “Teams” option under from Office 365 Admin Center > Under Team Admin Center > Select Teams > Click on Manage teams > select the team > Click on Edit option > edit description.
