Today, my Teams app on my phone got an update, and it doesn't show the Chat option on my phone any more. there is the option Calls.

When I open the app Settings, I have only the options Calling and People.

If I press and hold the Teams icon on my phone, it will show up a menu with the option "New chat", and if I click on it, it opens my list of contacts, and I open a chat can see the chat history with the contact, but it shows the message "Administrator has disabled chat for this user".

I contacted my IT support, and there was no change in my app permissions and access. Also, https://answers-afd.microsoft.com/static/images/image-not-found.jpgI can still use the Chat on my computer. The problem it is just happening on the app.

I have already tried to reinstall and clean the app data storage, and nothing has changed.

Can someone help me with this issue, please?

Hello there, thanks for reaching out to Forums. I will be more than happy to assist you.

I understand that you're having problems with the MS teams chat on your mobile app but no issues with the desktop app and have already contacted Administrator. Base on my experience as MS teams Admin, I used to disable and re-enable chats permission and wait it to sync. In your end, once the Admin has done the mentioned steps, try to reinstall the app.

Hope this helps.

Hey JinuVarghese23, the IT team in my company suggested I install an old version of Teams on my phone.

They gave me this link https://teams.en.uptodown.com/android/versions,  and I downloaded the “August 16” Version. And it is working for me now.

Also, I temporarily disabled the automatic updates on my to avoid problems until Microsoft fixes this bug.

    Hope that helps you.

    Cheers,

This is all I see on my end. Multiple sign outs, uninstall reinstall and still no go.

    Hello there,

I have had the exact same issue as Priscilla and I am a global admin, so I was able to assign myself a messaging policy with no chat, and then subsequently reassigned myself to the policy which had chat available. It hasn't made any difference. Few other things:

    1. It's only on my Android mobile, i was able to see teams and chat icon when I tried logging into an iPhone with my account
    2. It happened to one other person in my organization but fixed itself magically somehow.
    3. Mine has been persisting for 3 days now.

    Hey,
My Teams app stopped working again during the weekend. Same problem all over again. That is really annoying and frustrating.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can do to fix it for good?
    Cheers
