Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Hello Hamza A,
I'm Segunfunmi, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thank you for posting your query in this forum.
The method to reply to a specific message in Microsoft Teams varies depending on your account type and whether you're using the desktop/web app or mobile app.
For personal accounts on the desktop or web app, hover over the message you want to reply to and click the 'three-dot' menu. Then click the 'Reply' option, and the message will appear in the textbox as being quoted. Type your reply and press Enter.
For organization accounts, there's no direct reply button, but you can manually reply to messages. Go to the message box and press the Shift + > key combination when the cursor is in the box. A grey-colored quote box will appear. Go to the message you want to reply to and copy it, including the sender's name and timestamp.
If you're using the mobile app, you can reply to messages in chat directly with a single swipe, regardless of your account type.
Please remember that these instructions are for replying to specific messages in the chat. For channels, you can reply to a particular message using the Microsoft Graph API, but it requires technical knowledge and may not be suitable for all users.
I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Kind Regards, Segunfunmi.
