How can I change notification sound of my Business Teams on Android phone?

    I was ready to throw my phone out the window. I have done multiple variations on google searches and could not find this ANYWHERE. Some people said "Oh it's right there under categories" and others (like me) didn't have categories.

    Solution: Turn On App Categories

    Phone Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced Settings -> scroll down to bottom and enable "Manage notification categories for each app"

    Apparently this is OFF by default now so you have to turn it on. Hope this helps somebody.

    I've figured out how to change the tone of an incoming Teams message:

    On your phone, go to Settings, Notifications, App Notifications, click on Teams, scroll down to Notification categories, click on that then from there click on the type of notification and you can change the sound for each of them.

    That option doesn't exist in the Teams app. And there is no custom notification setting options under the App Details in Android for Teams, so it uses the default notification sound in Android.... So, I can't tell what is a general notification vs an incoming Teams chat.

    I also don't have "general activity" on my Samsung. Is there any way to set a customized sound for notifications?

    To change the notification sound for Microsoft Teams on your Android phone, follow these steps:

    Open the Teams app. Go to Settings. Navigate to Notifications. Under General activity, select Chats. Click on Chats again. Choose Advanced options. Look for the Sound setting. Pick your preferred notification sound from the available options.

    And there you have it! You can now customize the notification sound for your Business Teams on your Android device.
