Teams is still capturing my screen after quitting app (Mac)

My mac was still showing that Microsoft Teams was capturing my screen even though I had stopped sharing and left a meeting. I force quit the application and checked Activity Monitor to confirm Teams was not running.

I have both "New" and "Classic" Teams on my mac but was using the New teams for the meeting. I attempted to open & force quit both New and Classic teams multiple times until eventually the screen capturing notification went away.

Kinda creepy......

Hello Andrea L, thanks for coming into forums. I'm Myk, an Independent Advisor and I'll be more than happy to help you.

It seems that the issue you have encountered is being reported as bug by other users as well, which can be seen in this Techcommunity post: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/ms-teams-is-capturing-your-screen-mac/m-p/3964082

But here are the steps that you may perform before submitting it as bug:

Check if there's any pending MS Teams app update

    • Open MS Teams app
    • Click on 3 dots at the top right corner
    • Select Check for updates

If the application is up to date, you may uninstall, and reinstall the New Teams application for further isolation to the issue.

But if all else fails, you may submit it as bug through the Feedback portal: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/

    Or while in the app:

    • Select Help Teams help icon.
    • You have the option to: Give feedback. When you give your feedback, you'll also have the option to include screenshots and diagnostic logs.

    Kind Regards, Myk
