Can I disable the sound/beep that happens every time I mute / unmute in Teams?

With the "New" Teams (2024) App, every time I mute or unmute myself during a call, a sound plays. This is really annoying and actually problematic as I cannot hear what someone is saying while this sound is playing... I loose a quarter to half a second which is super frustrating when details are being given.

Is there any way to turn off this new, disruptive sound/beep?

* Voice calls and also video calls

After thousands of times trying, I found the bloody beep can be disabled by switching off "Sync device buttons" in Settings -> Devices -> Audio Settings. if "Sync device buttons" is on - beep on, if it is off - beep off.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I use a Mac and can confirm disabling "Play user interface sound effects" (System Settings > Sound) removes the bleep/chime.

It's so bothersome to me it's worthwhile deactivating that setting; time will tell if it impacts anything else I use regularly or rely on this sound setting for.

Alexander B123 -> Nope. Still wishing Teams wasn't such a frustrating product to use. Anything more than typed messages is such a pain :-(

I've been having the same frustration with the New Teams on my Macbook Pro after updating a couple of weeks ago. The chime plays every time I mute or unmute and it's really quite loud and very distracting. The chime does come through on my speakers as well as headphones. Did you ever figure out if this chime can be disabled?

    Hi Ashraf,

    1. Yes, "chime" is probably the best word for what I'm talking about... thanks for helping me find a better word for this!
    2. This "chime" does not happen when using the browser-based version of Teams.
    3. I'd rather not disable Sound Effect for my entire system just to get rid of the chime for Teams.

Now for something new: I realized that this "chimes" sound only plays in my Airpods, not on my MacBook speakers. BUT, it only plays on the 'New' Teams, not the older/'classic' version. To be clear, 'New' Teams has the title "Microsoft Teams (work or school".

Is that answering what you're asking, Ashraf?

    Thanks,

    David
