Microsoft Teams freezes during window sharing

Why does MS Teams stop working (freeze) when I share my window and everything works fine during screen sharing? The most problematic is sharing pdf files, while sharing MS Word or other types of files works more or less fine. The issue repeats every time. I have tried closing all other programs and made enough CPU and HD memory available so that the computer (HP laptop) can handle Teams's requirements. I have even disabled my camera and used a different device for video calls. I have a high-speed internet connection and never use wifi for meetings.

I've had this problem for months now and honestly, no advice I could find online helped.

I'd appreciate your quick response since I need MS Teams for my daily work.

Just an update on my issue that still hasn't been resolved.

No freezing occurs when using the web version.

As for the desktop app, almost no freezing occurs only if I'm using another device for the camera (a tablet in my case) and, occasionally, if the content I'm sharing is presented in MS Word. The moment I start sharing PDFs (which I generally need the most in my line of work), the issue persists.

It is the most annoying glitch ever.

I sincerely hope the Microsoft tech support team has a response to this issue other than clearing Teams Cashes, updating Teams, etc...

Same problem still persists. I thought it is new teams problem. But I switched back to old version - and still issue exists. We noticed it about September-October 2023. There was no such issue earlier.

Same exact issue here for one of our users. New Teams or Classic, it doesn't matter. Sharing windows always leads to a frozen Teams after a minute or two. We have a ticket open with Microsoft support and so far it's just been the cache clearing, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc.

I have the very same issue on Mac, already downloaded the new Teams. But still this problem appears, it blocks my work and every time I stop sharing it throws me away from the meeting.

    > This issue may also be related to your network connection, firewall settings, or antivirus software. Some possible solutions are:

    • Check your internet speed and stability and use a wired connection if possible.
    • Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software and see if that helps.
    • Allow Teams through your firewall or antivirus software by adding it to the whitelist or exception list.

I hope this helps. If you need more information, please let me know.

    Regards,
