Iphone continuity camera not working in new MS teams

I'm having the same issue too. When in Teams meetings and using my iPhone as the video and audio source, it will disconnect for 10-20 seconds. I'll have no audio or video, but sometimes just the camera will disconnect, other times just the mic.

I'm using:

• iPhone 15 pro
• Macbook pro 16 inch (2019) i9
• Teams version: 24102.2214.2869.7475 (latest as of 22/05/24)
• macOS Sonoma 14.5

To troubleshoot, I've:

• Ensured iOS & macOS are both up to date
• Reset Teams
• Reinstalled Teams

Still, the issue persists, on almost every Teams meeting I have. This only started in May this year.

I tried all the advice above. None of that has worked.

It would seem that the new teams has some sort of problem.

My specs and details of the problem:

Intel MacBook Pro 16"

Not operating in clamshell mode.

Teams works perfectly with the built-in camera.

Does not work with iPhone as webcam (continuity camera).

Continuity camera works perfectly with all other apps: FaceTime, Zoom, classic teams, and even when used by joining a teams meeting via web browser.

Only problem is with new teams.

I have exactly the same issue and have had for a couple of months now. As per the above posts, the problem seems to relate only the 'New' Teams on Mac OS, as of today 17 May 2024, it is still an issue.

It's worth adding that in my case, I am also using the iPhone microphone as the audio source and this continues to work, when the video feed freezes (for 30 seconds or so) and then reconnects. However this happens repeatedly and frequently, so renders it effectively unusable on Teams.

When continuity camera runs on Mac there is a green camera icon the toolbar and I have now noted that I can have more than one app in there at the same time. If I open FaceTime and select the camera and mic of the iPhone continuity camera, but without actually placing a FaceTime call, then select the same continuity camera in Teams, it appears (in limited testing) to be more stable. I have no idea why that would help, but so far, for me at least, it does appear to. Might be a work around for some, until a Teams update fixes the issue properly.
