Make FILE section default

When I enter a channel on Teams, the first section that opens is "Posts," which means I always have to click on the "Files" section which will usually take a few seconds of additional waiting. Is there an option to make the "Files" section default? Or any other way to speed up the process?

Additionally, I would like my folders to be ordered by newest modified, so that I don't have to select this option every time. Is that possible?

My workflow isn't that I occasionally click on a channel and have to click once to switch to Files. I am moving quickly among Channels on a Team, and so this is doubling the click count. The work is done with Files, not Posts. Posts are not the main reason I am using Channels (or even Teams).

Imagine if in windows File Explorer, when you click on a parent folder it didn't show all the files underneath. It would only show the files if you right clicked on Show Files after already clicking on the parent folder. Wouldn't that be ridiculous?

That's what's happening here with Files not being the Channel's default tab. It's a problem of that magnitude and absurdity. The workaround is using Add Shortcut to OneDrive in the Files tab and then doing all my navigating in Windows File Explorer. This is not feasible for most of the workforce who are added to a Teams Channel.

Yes exactly!! I agree with this whole thread, and in addition I think it's nuts that if I exit the "teams" tab to go back to the chat, I will lose my place within the channel if I click back into it. There's so much extra clicking and navigating than there should be. I have to click through the "team>channel>files>specific folder" again and again every time I temporarily exit the tab.

Hello Suljo123, My name is Oluwatosin, and I’ll be more than happy to help you with your query." This is a user-to-user community forum. We do not have access to your account. Presently, there isn't a feature to set the Files tab as the default when opening Microsoft Teams. By default, the Posts tab takes precedence and appears first when you access a channel. You might want to voice your support on the feedback portal https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/5cfcdafc-262e-ec11-b6e6-00224827bbc2. Many users have requested this feature, so your vote could truly make a difference. By default, folders in Microsoft Teams are sorted based on the Last Modified Date. If you wish to adjust the sorting order, launch Microsoft Teams. Then, head to the Files tab within your team. Click on All Documents located in the top right corner of the Files view. Select Edit Current View. look for the sort option to adjust the sorting order. Note that this adjustment will affect your current view and persist until you manually alter it. If you're using the mobile app, please be aware that it presently organizes folders based on the "Last Modified Date," there's currently no option to change this ordering. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions. Best regards, Oluwatosin.

It seems this is the correct link to the idea (with title Change which Tab is default landing page for a Team and/or Channel):

I just voted for it, would be great if they would implement this!
