How can I create a duplicate meeting with the same Teams meeting link?

I have a meeting invite from a customer that runs an entire day, from 9 am to 4 pm. However, my section is 11:15-12 pm only. Therefore, I would like to create a duplicate meeting event on my calendar for that time. I need help with how I can use the same teams meeting link for this new meeting event so I can get rid of that day-long meeting from my calendar, as it always shows me as busy and covers my calendar for that entire day.

Thanks

    Hello Musa Khan_17,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I understand that you need to create a duplicate meeting with the same meeting link. Did further tests and consults on my end as well and I'm afraid I couldn't find a way to achieve this within the teams app. Looks like cloning/duplicating a teams meeting is currently not feasible. As a workaround, you can use outlook web to duplicate the meeting from the outlook calendar. (Right click on the event >Duplicate >Edit the date and time of the new meeting to reflect your desired time slot and send/save as draft). The new meeting event or draft will have the same Teams meeting link as the original meeting.

->Alternatively, if you do not want this event to show you as busy, you can set it to show as free from your outlook calendar. From the calendar, right click on the meeting >Show As >Free. This way, your status will reflect as free even when the event is still active in your calendar.

In the meantime, I do think that this would be a great addition to the meetings in teams experience. If you don't mind, please provide feedback on this feature request by creating a new post in the Feedback Portal in Microsoft Teams · Community. Your kind understanding is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your precious time and have a great day.

    Best regards,

    Ashraf.
