Sync a teams Team/Channel calendar (group calandar) to a personal calendar?

As the title says, I would like to sync a team calendar, because it's annoying to invite new members to all meeting separately with staff turnover.

I understand from other posts that a channel calendar is a filtered view of a group calendar, but can I get that group calendar in outlook somehow?

I have been trying many different ways, even setting a channel e-mail and trying to add that as calendar, but it says no permissions.

    Hello

I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question.

I understand your frustration with the current limitations of Microsoft Teams' calendar functionality. As you mentioned, a channel calendar is indeed a filtered view of a group calendar. However, syncing a Teams channel calendar with your personal Outlook calendar can be challenging.

As per the information available, channel calendar meetings can only be scheduled from the Teams app and it's not possible using Outlook. If you create a meeting in the channel calendar, you can see it when viewing the corresponding Office 365 group calendar. But if you create a calendar entry from the Office 365 group calendar, it does not appear in the Channel calendar.

Unfortunately, there's no direct way to sync MS Teams channel calendar into MS Outlook or MS Calendar app for Windows. This is a known limitation and has been a point of feedback for many users.

Microsoft is constantly working on improving Teams and its features based on user feedback. So, it's possible that they might introduce this feature in the future. For now, you might want to reach out to Microsoft Support via feedback.

    I hope this helps

After all these years, I am surprised that nobody at MS has thought of Meeting invites/attendees based on (Email/public folder/AD/O365/Teams) groups to make managability more simplified for departments. If there is a position open for teams product owner, let me know. I have plenty of ideas and feedback on functionalities currently existing and missing desirables 🤓😂
