User cannot see shared screens on Microsoft Teams (Windows)

Hello,

I work for a small company and we have one user that is experiencing a peculiar issue where a user cannot see shared screens. They can share their own screen, but when other people in a call share a screen, nothing happens on their Teams. We have run into similar issues but only with remote workers on our VPN (fixed by setting up split tunneling). This user has a wired connection directly to our network.

Some steps I've tried:

  1. Clearing the Teams Cache
  2. Uninstalling and reinstalling teams
  3. Running updates on the computer (Windows and driver updates)
  4. Confirmed they have the same meeting settings in the Teams admin center as everyone else.
  5. Run in compatibility mode and run as Administrator.

Has anyone else run into any similar issues? I saw a post on the Microsoft forums indicating that checking an option for disabling the new meeting experience helped, but as I understand this isn't an option in newer Teams versions. At the very least does anyone have any recommendations as far as things to try?

Hi! I am John, Independent Advisor here to work with you on this issue.

Do this if you can’t see a shared screen in Microsoft Teams:

Microsoft Teams must be completely closed and ensured that it is not still operating in the toolbar at the bottom right of Windows.

In a File Window, go to “%appdata%/Microsoft/Teams”.

Everything in the Cache folder should be selected.

Open Teams and wait for the necessary files to download in the cache.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards

I have also experienced this over the past week.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled Teams - no luck.

One work around that kind of works, is when a host is sharing, click the Pop-out button from the main call window. This will show the currently sharing users screen.

If another user takes over sharing then you need to close the pop-up and click Pop-out again however.

My customer informed me today that her problem is occurring only while her laptop is connected to the Docking station, otherwise if she uses the laptop on its own, she can see the shared screen,

I will now have to focus on troubleshooting the Dell docking station

Yes, Teams in the browser works fine. Just the Desktop App is not provided screen shares.

    Hi John,

Have you tried to use Teams browser? If not yet, please try it first and let me know if there’s a difference.
