How to set Teams to remember backgrounds when joining someone else's Teams call?

Can someone help me correct Teams settings to remember my personal background when I join someone else's teams call? If I launch the call... no problem. If invited to someone's else's Teams call, all virtual backgrounds are not available. Any advice?

    Hello Todd,

I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

I'm sorry, Microsoft Teams doesn't automatically retain your chosen virtual background when joining someone else's call. The background settings typically reset to default for each new call. Here's what you can do:

    Set Background Before Joining:

    • Before you click 'Join' for the meeting, you should see an option to configure your video and audio settings. Here, you can also choose your virtual background.
    • Select 'Background effects' and choose the desired background. This should apply it for the current call.

If this feature is important to you, please consider providing a feedback to Microsoft https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/send-feedback-to-microsoft-with-the-feedback-hub-app-f59187f8-8739-22d6-ba93-f66612949332. They often update Teams based on user feedback and might consider adding a feature to remember background settings for future calls.

Currently, you need to manually select your background at the start of each call. This is particularly true when joining calls hosted by others, as Teams resets to default settings to ensure privacy and professional standards are maintained.

    I hope this helps,

    Best Regards, Ibhadighi
