Microsoft Teams does not have a built-in text messaging feature, but luckily, one of its biggest benefits is that it integrates with multiple third-party tools.

To send a text through Microsoft Teams itself, find a product that allows you to send texts right from the Teams interface.

Since you also mentioned student, I believe that your plan is MS Teams for education. I suggest to get in touch with your IT/Admin if they will allow you to use third-party tools to send SMS.
