Teams: Not able to send a message to Skype for business

Hi.

On our side we have "Microsoft Teams", and the client is using "Skype for business". An employee is telling me he can message some users on the other side (every time), and when messaging other users he gets an error message (every time) saying:

"We ran into a problem sending your message. Please share diagnostic code 488/24025 with your admin to help them troubleshoot the issue."

I googled for this error message but found nothing. There is a similar topic saying something about island mode and user being offline, but that doesn't really match our case and it doesn't have a solution. Does anyone here have an idea what's going on here?

    Hello Ammar Aganovic,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Please let me know of the following to narrow down the issue. Thanks in advance.

    1. Is this user getting this error for Skype for business users in a specific domain or all SFB users?
    2. If it is affecting all SFB users, please verify that you have the option to allow Skype users turned on in teams admin center external access.

    1. In your tenant, is this affecting one or multiple users?
    2. Are you running a hybrid or fully online environment?

In the meantime, if this is specific to one domain, this might be on their side as they also need to allow external access or interoperability on their side. Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf.
